So if you’re on a Hyper-v production environment, DO NOT DELETE SNAPSHOT TREES.

Snapshot your VM before config changes, complete your work and delete snapshot to make it merge to main VM disk file.

Snapshot’s a differential blocks for your VM disk file. So snapshot’s may even grow as big as your main VM disk file. So after you’re done with them, delete them and merge them to main disk file to eliminate extra disc cost. After deleting, turn-off your VM in order to let hyper-v merge it.

But i repeat, DO NOT DELETE SNAPSHOT TREES because Hyper-v DOES NOT MERGE SNAPSHOT’S WHEN YOU DELETE THE TREE.

So i’ve lost 1 days of data. It’s Microsoft you know, with their products, First loose data, then learn to use.

So while i was looking for any fixes, i found the Fabulatech’s USB over Network Software.

I just started using & testing it.I’ll update if everything goes okay with it.

Update: It made the trick and works!

But it took time before i managed to figure out i must not try to install HASP using remote desktop connection to server because HASP itself has a protection against it. Check it here.

we’ve continued our test plan…and I think we have isolated the problem.

Current situation is: SERVER1 is a WS2008-CORE running Hyper-V. It also runs UoN Server and shares a USB dongle, for which we’ve installed its driver.

We’ve also instantiate a WS2003 virtual server (SERVER2) into SERVER1, and installed UoN client. Afterwards we’ve mapped the USB dongle in the host machine to be used by SERVER2. We have installed in SERVER2 the app using the dongle (which also adds the dongle driver), and it has worked properly.

The problem we faced is that we were connecting to SERVER2 using Terminal Server sessions, and something didn’t install properly under that kinda connnection. However, if the installations are done by using a console to SERVER2, everything works fine.

Is there any way to get a limited-in-time product key, and check the full functionality of the product before buying a license?

I was in need of a video converter application which these days i frequently convert my audio tracks and video titles to other formats. While searching for a suitable software, i hit the Gadget Advisor blog.  There was the Blaze Media Pro review. As the site got my attention i kept crawling it and found few other interesting articles.

For example Best windows software review, recommends 34 applications which i use most of them but still got interesting recommendations; MozyPro, Dependency Walker, HW Monitor.

Also site does have another great resource; Best extensions for firefox. I do use lots of firefox addons but the article helped me to find new ones.

I think i’ll keep an eye on Gadget Advisor blog now and look for new usefull resources.

After looking in details i saw that Yahoo was returning me as response;

“The request line contained invalid characters following the protocol string”

Then the problem arrived out. The context’s post data was having invalid characters which then i solved with using urlencode().

So how you can find out if the one you own needs a firmware update? If you see the following screen just after replacing the harddisk, then you got a new one.

Actually everything is okay up to here. Googleing around gives lots of results for the fix. Sony’s support also have a resolution. Too bad that these info all around the web right now is outdated because we got a brandnew 2.50 firmware and this procuder needs you use the JUST THE SAME firmware you got on your PS3 before replacing harddisk. Not a newer one or older one.

Thanks anyway Sony also got a fix for 2.50 firmware harddisk replacement update. I’m also proud to annouce DailyPlaystation.com today and it’ll be the first site that features the story. Anyway back on to our topic, get the latest 2.50 firmware update here http://dus01.ps3.update.playstation.net/update/ps3/image/us/2008_0917_da62cbc7eafde9f6792b8a76a4aef004/PS3UPDAT.PUP (dated same as the 2.50 firmwares release). I was be able to update my own 2.50 PS3 with this file.

Instructions for replacing the harddisk with 2.50 firmware;

Create a folder on the storage media in which to save the update data.Using a PC, create a folder named “PS3” on the storage media or USB device. Within the PS3 folder, create a folder named “UPDATE”.

Be sure to save the update data as noted below. If the data is not saved in the correct way, the PS3™ system will not recognize the update data. The folder name must be in all uppercase letters.

• Location: Save in the “PS3” folder > “UPDATE” folderFile name:
• Save as file name “PS3UPDAT.PUP”.

A great service but the free version just sucks with tracking details and for now i don’t want to pay. I’ve lots of thing to pay before analyzers.Still you have to check the comparison of getclicky with others and see the features yourself.

Any analtics service, new and on beta, which is quite interesting as it supply a Java Client for your desktop to track the visitors. Promosing but need beta invite code which is very hard to find around. Maybe someone already have can send me?

Not just a analtyics package but a live visitor chat. It’s not a free service but a requested a demo to trial it. Also got a desktop client for tracking and operating.
